NINE SQUARED CAFE

FADA was tasked with developing a new interior language for cafe Nine Squared. Taking reference from the cafe’s bold branding, FADA’s aim was to embody the vibrant and playful essence of Nine Squared Cafe, as well as the industrial character of its new location within the Print Works building. A stunning central counter adorned with rich walnut and concrete effect stone takes centre stage. Contemporary, whimsical tiling mirrors the dynamic textures of local graffiti, creating a striking backdrop for Nine Squared’s coffee offering. The scheme is complemented by warm, opal glazed orb and metallic pendants, plush upholstery, sleek walnut, barrel legged banquettes, a lime effect wall finish with aesthetic nuances inherent in plaster, a statement glass block window and a polished concrete floor with expressive aggregate.

FADA approached the scheme holistically, working closely with local creative studio Allies to ensure the brand, signage & way-finding, illustrations and touch points reflected the new interior aesthetic. A light brand refresh and clever copy helped the cafe embody their youthful edge. The final result is a warm, sultry, playful space that fuses interiors, brand design, coffee and community together.
